Designed to empower people to navigate their way more confidently through today’s ‘smog’ of dis-information three experts from the University of Leeds, the British Library and CILIP look forward to sharing their knowledge with you in this free interactive session at Leeds Central Library.

Angela Newton

Angela is a Learning Advisor at Leeds University Library, working with academic staff and students. With a background in academic librarianship, Angela is keenly aware of the importance of using high quality information for decision making. Her particular interests currently lie in active listening, academic literacies and object-based learning.

Jez Cope

Jez is currently Data Services Lead at the British Library, where he is responsible for enabling UK researchers to get Digital Object Identifiers for their work through the UK DataCite Consortium, and for the Library’s overall approach to data and datasets in the National Collection. He holds an MSci in Mathematics and Computing and a PGCert in Higher Education, and is a Fellow of the Software Sustainability Institute.

As the CILIP Community Development Manager for England, Louise works with the Member Networks, supporting them to achieve their goals. She is a qualified librarian with over 25 years’ experience in public libraries, across research and reference, local studies, digitisation, health & wellbeing and prison libraries.
