Tracy Chevalier FRSL is an American-British novelist. She is best known for her second novel, Girl with a Pearl Earring, which was adapted as a 2003 film starring Scarlett Johansson and Colin Firth. She does a lot of research for her novels since they are mainly set in other times and places. If possible she likes to do what her characters do, as then it’s “easier to understand it and describe it”. We look forward finding out if Tracy tried her hand at glass-making during the research process for her latest novel!
Rebecca Fletcher is an experienced literary chair and also resident host at The Yard Hampshire where she has curated a programme of live author events for the past three years, hosting sell out evenings for a variety of authors and personalities. She co-hosts a monthly live book club on Instagram, Are You Sitting Comfortably, with Rebecca Lovatt from @myenglishcountrycottage which has featured a range of acclaimed authors.
The Queen’s Reading Room is a charity and global community on a mission to spread the joy and power of reading. Formed from Her Majesty Queen Camilla’s book club launched in 2021, it’s committed to helping people find and connect with the books that will make them lifelong readers.
The Living Knowledge Network is a partnership between public and national libraries in the UK, powered by the British Library. Together they create unforgettable exhibitions, events and experiences that celebrate the incredible impact of libraries everywhere.
